Angela M. Duke-Haynes, RN
Premier
Medical Legal Consulting, LLC was founded by Angela Duke-Haynes, RN in
2001 to provide medical-legal support services. Premier Medical
Legal Consulting is now a thriving independent practice. Case
reviews include a broad range of cases including personal injury,
medical malpractice, criminal and product liability. Due to her
extensive background in long term care Mrs. Duke-Haynes specializes in
behind the scenes consulting in nursing home litigation. She has
provided expert review and testimony in the past.
In addition to legal nurse consulting, Mrs. Duke-Haynes provides independent consulting services to healthcare organizations including nursing homes, home health care agencies and durable equipment companies (DME). These services include, but are not limited to, assistance with periodic performance reviews as required by The Joint Commission; quality assurance/performance improvement program development, oversight and assistance; staff education; policy and procedure review and update; and risk management services. Preparation for upcoming accreditation surveys includes a mock survey with creation and implementation of a plan of action to ensure compliance the regulatory standards.
Additionally, Mrs. Duke-Haynes is involved with various professional organizations and is currently serving as Past President of the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. She is also a member of the National Nurses in Business Association and the West Virginia Bar Association LNC Section. Education has been a part of Mrs. Duke-Haynes’ nursing career from the start as most of her clinical positions included staff development/education roles. She continues to provide staff education through her healthcare consulting and speaks to various health care organization and nursing groups on medical and legal nurse topics. Mrs. Duke-Haynes participated in the review of a chapter of the 3rd edition of Legal Nurse Consulting Principles and Practices. Additionally she is the co-founder and co-owner of Legal Nurse Consulting Institute, LLC. She has a diverse background in education and will be speaking at the national American Association of Legal Nurse Consulting Conference in Arizona in April 2009.
